UK Passivhaus Open Days 2011: 11th – 13th November
A Passivhaus offers some, if not the best of, the key features any house, hoping to term itself an eco house, needs to encompass.
We have always been believers in the fact that before the more well known ‘eco technologies’ are incorporated into any build you must first ensure the fabric and structure of the building is of standard; sustainable materials, super insulation, airtightness and the use of building materials to minimise heat or energy requirements, before you consider generating your own, are the key components. All of which are key to any Passivhaus build, hence why the methodology is an excellent approach.
At the UK Passivhaus Open Days, we have the opportunity to experience the comforts of the Passivhaus standard first hand and learn more about it.
A range of projects are open to the public including private houses, social housing, community buildings, office buildings and refurbished properties. The buildings have been designed by different architects and built using various construction methods.
