If it’s meant to be…
I had a missed call from Mr D; when I called back and finally got through to him he sounded forlorn… The current lessees off the land (potential site for our eco property) have matched our offer and he has decided to go with them!
I had asked 4 days earlier that if we were to go ahead I did not want the scenario that if these guys come up with the money he would not go back with them once we had a agreed the purchase between us. He had agreed but clearly the long standing business relationship stood stronger than our new found relationship.
I was so disappointed but had not yet allowed myself to get too attached to this land as I knew there were many hurdles to jump yet – but it is a little hard not to.
It was difficult to be angry and annoyed with Mr D as he seemed so genuine in his apologies to me and his understanding of my disappointment. He thanked me again for my honesty throughout our dealings to date. On more than 1 occasion during the call he stated that he believes that if something is meant to be then it will happen…
As I reflect now 2 days later I have to believe that to be the case.
The eco home vision remains stronger than ever and I am sure Mr D’s words will hold true.
This is the furthest we have progressed down the road to realising the dream and I must believe that when we do find a site it will be bigger, allowing for that garden we would so much love to have, rather than the compromise we would have had to make for this plot.
A letter or two to other land owners of potential eco house sites soon revives me and rechannels the focus. If it is meant to be I shall speak to Mr D again, but the search continues in earnest.
