When Eco Building goes wrong
Not everyone gets it right when it comes to going about an Eco Home build. In Pembrokeshire, for example a couple more or less went straight into building their own new Eco House. This is quite a move given that regardless of who owns the land planning is still very much a necessity. If read below however you will learn that there has been quite a reaction in support of the property.
More than 1,400 people have so far visited the couple’s Facebook page ‘Charlie and Meg’s Roundhouse’ to express support for their hand-built home. Though they are based in Pembrokeshire, I do think this further just goes to show this trend is now growing in support among the UK general public as the need to live in a more ethical way and manner forever increases.
A spokesman for Pembrokeshire County Council said: “An enforcement notice has been served on this property as it is alleged that an unauthorised dwelling has been built in open countryside without planning permission”. It is said to be the subject of an enforcement appeal.
It will be interesting to see what happens over time now and what does end up happening pending the final end decision. Though this was a risky decision for these home owners to make, I do think the reaction they have had via social media and the general public does speak volumes of what people think of Eco Property in todays day and age.
