Isn’t it funny how a lot of the time what you are looking for is right under your nose?
We have a friend who owns a semi-detached house which is on a corner plot meaning that he has a triangular section of land which extends to the intersection of the corner.
We had previously not considered this an option as it would have involved getting both people adjacent to the corner to agree to sell us their corresponding ‘triangles’ to us.
On chatting to him though he said he would be in agreement to it and we discussed a suitable price. What a great result and we are halfway there! Now it just relies on the other neighbours agreeing….
It may now help in that our friend will not be able to receive the money for his piece of land unless the neighbours also agree.
We would need the 2 triangles to make a square plot that would then be large enough for a house.
So we will approach them and then who knows what conversations may occur over the back fence! We now have another person with a vested interest in us acquiring the land – lets see what comes of it.
There is also 2 other scenarios of this in the same street so we just might drop then a line too…
